Trust In Psalms-5

Moving God’s right hand

Psa 17:7  Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them.

In a manner of speaking, “Trust is what moves God.” The Scripture is replete with instances when God’s right hand intervened in the affairs of those who trusted in Him. Great and marvelous acts were experienced when God acted to deliver or protect His beloved ones who trusted in Him.

One of such interventions was the battle between the armies of Asa, king of Judah and Zerah the king of Ethiopia, who came out against Asa’s 580,000 soldiers with One Million soldiers and 300 chariots. Chariots can compare to modern day tanks in terms of being the primary offensive weapon in front-line ground combat.

The odds were definitely against Asa, “And Asa cried to the LORD his God, “O LORD, there is none like you to help, between the mighty and the weak. Help us, O LORD our God, for we rely (trust) on you, and in your name we have come against this multitude. O LORD, you are our God; let not man prevail against you.” 2 Chr 14:11 emphasis mine.

Then what happened? “So the LORD defeated the Ethiopians before Asa and before Judah, and the Ethiopians fled.” Vs 12

Whether it is a small challenge or a big one- when you are faced with a mighty, overwhelming challenge, God is able to help. But such help comes to those who choose to trust in Him by calling on His name. God’s hand will move in visible or invisible ways on your behalf and you shall rejoice and glorify Him. Halleluyah!
